Cultivating a Self Service Culture

Andrew Renz from Code 42 took the stage after a personal testimonial from Jody Rodgers and his account of implementing CrashPlan while he was in Adobe's IT department. Andrew gave a quick roadmap of the CrashPlan PROe application and service. He got a round of applause for the announcement of ending the client's usage of Java and going to native applications for each platform. He demonstrated how Code 42 uses JAMF Software's Self Service to allow their own users install CrashPlan which was rather meta. Andrew highlighted some best practices of implementing CrashPlan into an imaging process, including not having the CrashPlan client as part of an monolithic image but rather have it as post-user package install.
