Policy Enforcement

End users are often unaware of the implications of their actions when they install unlicensed software, download copyrighted materials, and use unlicensed fonts. This opens up potentially crippling liabilities for companies, schools, and other organizations. To prevent this, organizations often create a list of policies that govern computer and internet usage, however they often lack the tools to track and enforce compliance-until now.

Automatically Discover, Remove, Report

  • Integrating Recon and the JAMF Software Server (JSS), then applying rules based on the information returned, allows you to sleep soundly at night. It begins with determining the frequency of your scans from by the minute, to randomly throughout the day or week, at startup, at shutdown, at login or logout. You decide how often you need machines to report. From there you determine your restricted applications and processes by departments, buildings, or computer groups. Within five minutes you can begin your compliance audits that automatically remove offending titles and kill open applications. The reports generated can be set to notify IT management, human resource departments, and other department management.

The policies, removal, and notification features within the Casper Suite are customizable to reflect the needs of your company, school, or organization and are intended to reduce your liability.

"Our biggest challenges are that we work as if we are a 24-hour operation, that a majority of our users are mobile, and that we have users on the road for months at a time. We're excited about the Casper Suite because by using Policies all of our users are able to receive printer, software, and security updates at login. It's really great. No more scheduling nightmares-they're getting updates themselves."
