Greetings
The snowstorm that came through Minnesota last week makes the coming of nice weather seem all the more precious. Our goal at JAMF Software is to support you in a way that minimizes the amount of manpower needed to manage your Macs. Because our software is developed in a place where spring doesn’t really get underway until April or May, we realize the value of creating a way to maximize your time spent on the job. At the same time, we realize that business never stops, which is just one more reason to rely on the Casper Suite by JAMF Software. So, all you Casper Suite users, unleash yourself from your desk, get outside and enjoy the Spring! (Unless, of course you live in Minnesota where it is still snowing).
Tell Us How We’re Doing!
If nothing else, the long winter has allowed us to check a few more items off our “To Do” list, and one of these items was the creation of a 6-month quality survey for Casper Suite users. Please, if you have an extra couple of minutes (yeah, right), we would greatly appreciate your feedback! Click here to tell us how we’re doing.
Casper Suite in Action
For many people who work in the Education field, spring is the time to start thinking about buying new technology for the coming school year. Take a look at theattached case studyfrom Glendale-River Hills School District to learn how the Casper Suite allowed them to quickly and seamlessly roll out 160 new machines a month before the start of a new school year.
Maximizing Your IT Budget With Composer
Composer is the package creation utility by JAMF Software. Click here to view our new Composer video that shows you how to point and click your way through the package creation process in four simple steps.
Purchasing Composer this year will not only help you become highly organized and allow you to efficiently make changes to the software you deploy, it will also help you maximize your IT budget. Here’s how: Any Composer purchase made in 2008 makes you eligible to receive a $250 credit towards Recon Suite, our inventory and asset management utility. Additionally, any money you spend on either Composer or Recon Suite counts as a credit towards your purchase of the Casper Suite if you choose to upgrade to the full suite by the end of 2008.
Support from Support
Whenever an updated version of the Casper Suite is released, it is recommended that users update the Casper application on their NetBoot images. Since Version 5.13 came out last month, take a few moments to update your NetBoot images by completing the following steps:
1) On the NetBoot server, navigate to/Library/netboot/NetBootSP0/<imagename>.nbi/System.dmg
2) Mount System.dmg on the desktop
3) Locate the old Casper application and replace it with the new one
4) Unmount System.dmg
For additional or updated information about updating your NetBoot images, refer to the Knowledge Base article on our website.
