Things are busy as ever at JAMF Software and these are some of the things you’ll want to know about.
We will be hosting four Casper User Groups in March in the cities of Seattle, Los Angeles, New York and Washington, D.C. These events are a great way to meet up with fellow Casper Administrators in your area as well as get some face time with Casper developers and system engineers to ask questions, give us your feedback, and find out where JAMF Software is headed. Event dates will be published on our website next week so please visit us online at http://www.jamfsoftware.com.
Congratulations to Stephanie Stone of Seminole Independent School District who was the lucky winner of our iPod Touch drawing at Macworld!

Did you know that you can sync the packages and scripts from Casper Admin to a local folder or firewire drive? In the Casper Suite 5.1 Documentation on pages 300-301, it describes the process to add and sync an additional file server for use with the Casper Suite. However, by dragging a local folder to the 'Local Drives' on the left pane of Casper Admin, you can also sync your file server to local storage, giving you an off-line copy of all of your packages and scripts. And, if you’re really adventurous, you can even place a copy of Casper and Casper Admin inside of the folder or drive location that you just synced to so that when you launch that copy you will be working with your offline package data!
This can be a handy tool for those of you who have a remote office with one or two machines that you need to image from a firewire drive. It can also be a way that you can address an IT disaster recovery plan with a method to recover Macintosh workstations to a known state.
"We use it every day for new workstation deployments, software installs and remote upgrades. It's simple to manage for administrators. The product has been quite reliable and the number of configuration options are infinite."
